Philips Heartstart FRx – Semi-Automatic Defibrillator

The Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator is the ideal device for use in high-stress environments such as construction, swimming pools, or on the job with employees in any location. The device is lightweight, rugged, and reliable, able to withstand rough handling, extreme temperatures, dust, or wet conditions.

Your HeartStart FRx AED will need to be maintained on a regular basis. Each system includes a maintenance label to help you keep track of the two accessories that must be replaced: the battery and the pad cartridge. 

The HeartStart FRx is simple to maintain after it has been installed and enabled. The device will run a series of automated self-tests on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to assess pad readiness and validate circuit and system performance and calibration. Between battery changes and regular maintenance, the device should last up to four years.

Both adults and children can use the pre-connected SMART Pads II that are included with the Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator. SMART Analysis automatically evaluates heart rhythm and only administers a shock if the victim's rhythm is found to be treatable by the Philips advanced algorithm, even when the shock button is pressed.

The HeartStart FRx also offers an optional Infant/Child Key, which is a crucial tool for changing the joule output to that which is suited for a child's heart, allowing you to be completely prepared in the event of a child suffering a sudden cardiac arrest. It's worth noting that this key is not included with the purchase of the Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator.

Fortunately, the majority of AED batteries have a standby life of two to five years. The HeartStart FRx battery is a lithium manganese dioxide battery that lasts for four years before it needs to be replaced. 

The FRx will execute self-tests every day. When the green "Ready" light is flashing, it is not necessary to perform a battery insertion self-test to test the defibrillator. This uses battery power and risks draining the battery prematurely. It is recommended that you obtain a replacement battery to guarantee that your medical equipment works correctly in an emergency.
