Heartsine Samaritan PAD Adult Pad-Pak

The HeartSine Adult Pad-Pak is designed for PAD 300/350P/500P defibrillators.

When treating someone who is in sudden cardiac arrest, the pads are utilised in combination with a defibrillator. The defibrillator's clear verbal prompts will guide the user through the process step by step, allowing anyone to give the treatment required to save a life. Most defibrillators have diagrams depicting how to use the pads; users can refer to them for guidance. 

The pads should be placed on the casualty’s chest as shown in the diagram. The user must then operate the defibrillator with varying levels of input depending on whether it is semi-automatic or fully automatic. The defibrillator will either automatically administer an electric shock or prompt the user to push a button.

The HeartSine Adult Pad-Pak is designed for people over the age of eight and weighing more than 25 kg. These pads would not be appropriate if the casualty was under eight or weighed less than 25 kg. There are Pad-Paks specifically intended for paediatric use, and having both available is essential because a sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, regardless of age. 

The HeartSine Adult Pad-Pak has a four-year battery life, offering 60 shocks or six hours of continuous monitoring. While this is the case, it is important that you carry out regular tests to ensure your defibrillator and pads are working properly.
