Physio-Control Lifepak CR2 Replacement Pads Kit

The Lifepak CR2 Electrode Pads, like various other medical equipment, are single-use only. They are designed to deliver treatment to a single patient, and once they have been used, it is vital that owners of the defibrillator replace the pads as soon as possible. We recommend having a spare pair of pads on hand to replace them quickly. 

Thanks to the paediatric switch on the Lifepak CR2 Defibrillator, the Lifepak CR2 Replacement Pads can be used on both adults and children. Responders should ensure they have switched to paediatric mode when treating a child. This will make sure that the correct level of electric shock is delivered.

The Lifepak CR2 Replacement Pads have a shelf-life of four years. That said, it depends on the device, how you’ve stored your pads, and whether they have been used. Owners must regularly assess their device's operating condition, including the pads and batteries. Your defibrillator, batteries, and pads should be stored per the user manual. Usually, these spaces are safe, dry, and protected from weather damage.  

Using the Lifepak CR2 Replacement Pads is simple and can be done by trained and untrained responders. When delivering life-saving treatment to a victim of sudden cardiac arrest, the responders should follow the following steps:

• Check to see whether the person is in sudden cardiac arrest by asking them questions. If they do not respond, they will likely be in sudden cardiac arrest. 
• Check whether the person is breathing, feeling their wrist for a pulse, or seeing any air flowing out of their nose. 
• Place the defibrillator near the person, turn the device on, and begin to follow the instructions. 
• Bare the chest of the person, making sure that it is dry. 
• If the casualty is a child, select paediatric mode on the device. 
• Place the electrode pads on the chest, as shown in the diagram. 
• Follow the instructions from the defibrillator. The user input level will differ depending on whether the device is semi-automatic or fully automatic.
