Q&A
  1. What is included in the Lifepak CR Plus Charge-Pak?

The Lifepak CR Plus Charge-Pak includes two packs of electrode pads and one battery charger stick. In the Charge-Pak, you’ll also receive an instruction manual on how to replace the pads properly and how to dispose of your used pads safely.

  2. How long can I store the Lifepak CR Plus Charge-Pak?

The Lifepak CR Plus Charge-Pak has a four-year shelf-life and can be stored up to that time. It is essential to store the pads correctly to ensure that they remain in good condition. Time is important when responding to someone in sudden cardiac arrest, so having pads ready to go could save a life.

  3. Why do you need two adult pads?

While having two sets of pads is not essential, a spare could give you confidence knowing that you have one set of pads that work and are ready to deliver potentially life-saving treatment. Like all medical equipment, issues can arise, such as a fault or if the product has not been stored correctly. A spare pair of pads will ensure that your defibrillator is ready to administer treatment.

It is important to note that pads are also single-use only, meaning you will have to replace them each time they are used on an individual.

  4. How do you use the pads?

The pads are straightforward meaning trained and untrained responders can operate them. Once the pads are plugged into the defibrillator, users then remove the pads from the protective packaging. By following the diagram, users must place the electrode pads on the bare chest of the casualty. From there, depending on whether the defibrillator is semi or fully-automatic, the device will either administer the treatment automatically or prompt the user to press a button.
